Working with hands, heart, and head, we offer advice and guidance on a full range of subjects around play, inclusive design, and child-friendly planning.
“Children confront the elements with their eyes wide open before their senses are dulled by modern socialisation. They have a great fascination for earth, fire, air and water and want to experience, feel and explore them. They still react with great sensitivity to all living things.
It is our task to make it possible for children to have holistic access to the elements and experience them fully while their senses are still developing.”
After Hugo Kükelhaus (1900 – 1984)
Harry Harbottle has more than 20 years of experience advising on best practice in relation to children’s need to play and the design, installation, and maintenance of play at all scales (micro to macro).
He advises on a range of issues, including:
- preparing briefs/specifications for detail design of natural play spaces
- inclusive design
- managing risk in play provision
- use of Risk Benefit Assessments – generic/site specific/dynamic
He has also provided a multitude of CPD sessions on related subjects for landscape architects practices.
